Ideas worth building, brands worth keeping.
Jib Blend Mesh started in 2017 when Samuel Caldwell left a mid-size branding studio where he had spent four years doing good work for other people's clients. He had a spare room, a decent monitor, and a list of small businesses he thought deserved better creative than they were getting. The name came from a conversation about how good design is always two things at once: the jibble (the loose, generative, slightly chaotic part where ideas happen) and the mesh (the structure that holds them together and makes them usable). It stuck, partly because it was odd enough to remember.
The first two years were mostly identity work for local food and drink brands, a couple of hospitality clients, and one very patient tech startup that let Samuel redesign their site three times before everyone was happy. By 2019 the team had grown to include a developer and a copywriter, and the work started to get more varied. A packaging project for a small-batch hot sauce company led to a full rebrand. A website for a yoga studio turned into a six-month campaign retainer. That is still roughly how it works: one project opens a door, and if the relationship is good, we walk through it together.
